Torch has a special opportunity to voice the needs of people with sight loss within Christian communities.  We seek to raise awareness of sight loss and the impact of sight loss, particularly in churches.  Through our work we enable Christian communities to include people with sight loss.  Torch also seeks to inspire sight loss organisation locally and globally to consider spiritual need.

Our Sight Loss Friendly Church campaign launching later in 2019 will offer churches the opportunity to sign up to be part of a network of churches receiving expert advice and guidance on how to be sight loss friendly.

Training: Torch offers sight loss awareness training for Christian organisations and Sight Loss Friendly workshops for churches as part of our Sight Loss Friendly Church scheme.  We do not charge for this service and are delighted to be work in partnership enabling Christian communities to fully include people with sight loss.

Advice for churches and clients: We can offer friendly, helpful advice on a variety of sight loss topics, whether that’s to individuals who are losing or having changes in their sight, or churches who want to improve their welcome.

Signposting to other organisations: Torch’s staff have a wide range of knowledge about other sight loss, disability and faith organisations so rest assured, if we don’t have the answers, we can direct you to someone who does.

Torch has a unique perspective of sight loss and Christianity.  We are able to advise individuals and organisations on the solutions that are right for them and their communitites.
